With great respect we acknowledge that the land and waterways that we live, work and play on is the unceded territory of the Coast Salish people; in particular the Malahat Nation and the Cowichan Tribe, who have lived on and cared for this land for millennia.

in person & online!
Thursday, July 1, 2021
We acknowledge that this Canada Day is not like any other. The Shawnigan Residents Association has received guidance through conversations with the Malahat Nation on how to respectfully commemorate this day and we have taken their guidance to heart.
Should you want to commemorate Canada Day by learning about Residential Schools, we recommend exploring the National Centre for Truth and Reconciliation's website at:
All public health rules will be followed- keeping this a safe event!
The Shawnigan Lake Community Association has been serving the community since the early 1940's! It is the soul of the community. The purpose of the SLCA is to provide an organization of volunteers to share the commitment of bettering the community and to further the development of community interests for the welfare of all.
The Board of Directors is a small but energetic group of volunteers holding the heart of the community in their own hearts.
Annually we hold four events:Easter Event on Easter Sunday, Canada Day Celebrations on July 1st, Halloween Hoedown on the last Saturday in October, and Christmas in the Village on the first Sunday in December.
